First Weeks Of Las Vegas Raiders 2023 OTAs Begin

Raiders 2023 OTAs start in Phase 3 of offseason program

With the start of Raiders 2023 OTAs (Organized Team Activities) earlier this week, the Las Vegas Raiders have entered Phase 3 of their offseason program.

The Raiders 2023 OTAs, a four-week session made up of 10 practices, are the third and last stage of the offseason program before Training Camp. The Raiders have already completed three sessions and have seven more set for May 31 to June 2 and June 12 to June 15.

Live contact is prohibited during these workouts, although 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are accepted. A mandatory minicamp will run from June 6 through June 8 in addition to the Raiders 2023 OTAs.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and first round pick Tyree Wilson were among the players mentioned by Head Coach Josh McDaniels who were not expected to participate in practice during the Organized Team Activities. McDaniels and the coaching staff are hopeful despite the fact that the two are still healing from prior ailments.

“Some of them may be ready before the spring is over, some of them may not,” said McDaniels. “We’re always going to air at this time of the year in being smart. To try and rush them out there and get them out there in May, that’s a subpar decision.

“All of these guys are doing a great job with what they can do in terms of the rehab,” McDaniels added. “They’re in all the meetings, doing all the football things they can do that aren’t jeopardizing anybody’s ability to be ready to go here for the season. They’re doing all of those things and the guys who aren’t out there, as soon as they’re ready they’ll be there.”
