The Las Vegas Raiders 2022 NFL Draft Class consisted of six new additions to the Silver and Black
General Manager Dave Ziegler and Head Coach Josh McDaniels have completed the Las Vegas Raiders 2022 NFL Draft class by selecting six new players through a series of trades. Let’s take a look at who we got with each pick.
McDaniels, who spent 13 seasons in New England, has made an immediate impact in Las Vegas, where the Raiders have been highly aggressive in free agency. The Raiders handed the Green Bay Packers their first-round pick (No. 22) and second-round pick (No. 53) in this year’s draft in exchange for Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams who inked a five-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders that includes a $6.7 million guarantee. As a result, the Raiders 2022 NFL Draft didn’t begin until the third round.
Round 3, 90th overall pick
Dylan Parham, C/G, Memphis
Dylan Parham was a four-year starter at Memphis and is a guard who can play center, which the Raiders desperately need. The 6-foot-3, 311-pound lineman was the fifth center chosen after being deemed the third best center in the class. Parham ran a 4.93 40-yard dash with a 108 broad jump at the NFL Combine.
Round 4, 122nd overall pick
Zamir White, RB, Georgia
The Silver and Black traded a fifth-round pick to move up four spots in the Raiders 2022 NFL Draft to acquire national championship-winner Zamir White. At Georgia, White ran for a total 2,043 yards and 25 touchdowns in three seasons while rushing for 856 yards and 11 touchdowns in his last season.
Round 4, 126th overall pick
Neil Farrell Jr., DL, LSU
During his career as an LSU Tiger, the nose tackle from Mobile, Alabama started 21 games and appeared in 51 games, including the 2020 CFB National Championship game. The 6’ 4”, 330-pound defensive lineman has 144 total stops, 23 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks in five seasons.
Round 5, 175th overall pick
Matthew Butler, DT, Tennessee
According to Pro Football Focus, Matthew Butler played the most snaps (726) out of any defensive lineman in the SEC last season. Butler has appeared in 53 games with 26 starts and recorded 152 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks across five seasons at Tennessee. The Raiders got great value here.
Round 7, 238th overall pick
Thayer Munford Jr., T, Ohio State
The 6’ 6”, 328-pound Thayer Munford Jr. was selected two rounds after his projected draft position and was deemed the best value pick out of any team that drafted in the seventh round. The Raiders drafted Thayer to play tackle with some guard flex. PFF shows that he only allowed one sack over the course of 702 pass blocking snaps in the past two seasons.
Round 7, 250th overall pick
Brittain Brown, RB, UCLA
To end the Raiders 2022 NFL Draft class, the franchise selected Brittain Brown who recorded 2,284 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns over 400 career carries. The versatile running back also caught 41 receptions for 431 yards.
