With the 135th overall pick in the fourth round of the  2023 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders draft QB Aidan OConnell from Purdue University. In order to make the selections, the Raiders traded up and exchanged their 144th and 214th overall picks to the New England Patriots.

After passing for more than 3,000 yards in each of the previous two seasons, coaches named him to the All-Big Ten Second Team. The quarterback totaled 9,219 passing yards, 65 touchdowns, and 30 picks.

As the Las Vegas Raiders draft QB Aidan OConnell, the 6-foot-1, 198 pound quarterback is likely more of a developmental backup for the time being.
