Raiders draft S Christopher Smith II with 170th overall pick
With the 170th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders draft S Christopher Smith II from the University of Georgia. The Raiders sent their 204th and 220th overall pick to the New York Jets in exchange for the 170th pick.
In his five seasons as a Georgia Bulldog, Smith racked up 87 solo tackles, 10 pass deflections, and six interceptions. During his senior season, Smith received First Team All-American and First Team All-SEC honors as a two-time national champion.
One of his biggest plays was catching an interception during the 2022 National Championship against Alabama. He also scored the lone touchdown against Clemson that same season.
