Las Vegas Raiders re-sign FB Jakob Johnson to a one-year deal

Announced on Saturday, the Las Vegas Raiders re-sign FB Jakob Johnson to a one-year contract. Johnson spent his first three NFL seasons with the New England Patriots from 2019 to 2021 before joining the Raiders for his second year.

Johnson spent time with the Stuttgart Scorpions of the German Football League back in 2018, and then he signed with the Patriots as a part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program. The 6-foot-3, 255 pound fullback has played in 54 games with 29 starts and caught 18 receptions for 93 yards with one touchdown.

At the University of Tennessee, Johnson doubled as a defensive lineman and tight end, recording three career catches for 23 yards and 21 total tackles. He went back to Germany to play after being passed over in the 2018 NFL Draft.

As the Las Vegas Raiders bring back and re-sign FB Jakob Johnson, it gives the fifth year fullback time to grow his blocking and running game as part of the Silver and Black.
