Raiders sign DE Tyree Wilson to a 4-year deal

Announced on Friday, the Las Vegas Raiders re-sign DE Tyree Wilson to a rookie four-year contract. Worth $25 million, the deal officially secures one of the best players of the 2023 draft class.

Expected to be the top pass rusher of this year’s draft, Wilson was drafted with the Raiders’ 7th overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-6, 271 pound defensive end started for three years at Texas Tech University and played in 44 games and 28 starts while recording 121 tackles, 76 solo tackles, 32 tackles for loss, 17 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one pass defensed.

Wilson received first-team All-Big 12 Conference and first-team All-American honors in 2022 by USA Today, The Athletic and Phil Steele Magazine in his senior year. Across 10 games that season, Wilson totaled 61 tackles, 36 TFLs, seven sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

The Henderson, Texas native went to West Rusk High School and racked up 249 tackles, 60 tackles for loss, and 11.5 sacks. As a senior, he was chosen as the District 9-3A Division-II Defensive MVP and received Class 3A second-team All-State recognition.

As the Las Vegas Raiders sign DE Tyree Wilson, we should expect him to rotate alongside Chandler Jones and Maxx Crosby.
