Las Vegas Raiders sign DT Bilal Nichols, the second former Bears signing today
Announced today, the Las Vegas Raiders sign DT Bilal Nichols, the former Bears defensive tackle who spent four seasons in Chicago. The Bears drafted Nichols 145th overall in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
On a two-year deal, Raiders sign DT Bilal Nichols for $11 million with $9 million guaranteed. Last season, Nichols recorded 51 tackles with five TFLs, three sacks, two fumble recoveries, and nine QB hits. He started 31 games since the 2020 season with a total of 91 tackles and has played 64 percent of the snaps in 2021.
Nichols, 25, has been quite impressive during his time with the Chicago Bears as the Delaware product has quick acceleration on his inside pass-rush abilities. He has chemistry with the Las Vegas Raiders Assistant GM Champ Kelly, who was the Bears’ Assistant director of player personnel from 2017 to 2021.
