Las Vegas Raiders sign DT John Jenkins to a short term deal
Announced on Friday, the Las Vegas Raiders sign DT John Jenkins to a short term contract. Jenkins will be entering his 11th NFL career season. Since being selected at 82nd overall by the New Orleans Saints in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, the Raiders will be his fifth NFL team following his stints with the Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins, and New York Giants.
Throughout his career, Jenkins has totaled 212 tackles, 112 solo tackles, 2.5 sacks, four passes defensed, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. The Meriden, Connecticut native also has some playoff experience with five postseason games played.
During his time at the University of Georgia (2011–2012), Jenkins recorded 78 tackles, 36 solo tackles, four sacks, one pick, two passes defensed, and one forced fumble across 27 games. In his senior year, Jenkins was selected second team All-SEC.
As the Las Vegas Raiders sign DT John Jenkins, we expect the vet to be a rotational player for the Silver and Black.
