Las Vegas Raiders sign OL Alex Bars from the Chicago Bears

The Las Vegas Raiders sign OL Alex Bars, the former swiss-army knife that spent the last three seasons with the Chicago Bears. In 2019, the Bears signed Bars as an undrafted free agent who played 38 games with 13 starts for the Monsters of the Midway.

Alex Bars is a 6’ 5”, 334-pound multi-tooled athlete who played various positions for his former team. Bars was positioned at guard, center, and tackle during his time in Chicago and was also utilized as a blocker in specific formations. As the Las Vegas Raiders sign OL Alex Bars, it won’t be hard to fit him to the squad, especially at right tackle.

Last season, Bars started in five games and helped the Chicago Bears average 118.7 rushing yards per game. In 2020 he started the final eight games of the season, playing 100% of the snaps in each start.

As a native of Nashville, Tennessee, Bars attended Notre Dame between 2016–18 and played in 36 games with 32 starts at right tackle, right guard, and left guard. Bars was named to the Sporting News All-American First Team as a junior in 2018.
