Las Vegas Raiders sign QB Chase Garbers to active roster

Announced on Saturday, the Las Vegas Raiders sign QB Chase Garbers from the practice squad to the active roster.

A four-year starter for the California Golden Bears, Garbers finished his collegiate career with 6,582 throwing yards and 589 completions on 959 attempts with 50 touchdowns. He ended up being ranked fourth in California’s history with a total yardage of 7,756 and tied for sixth in touchdowns (50), seventh in passer rating (132.2), seventh in passing yards (6,582) and seventh in 300-yard passing games (4).

Garbers, a Newport Beach, California-native, went to Corona del Mar High School and led his squad to four Pacific Coast League titles and a state championship. During his prep career, he rushed for 1,290 yards and 27 touchdowns while passing for 7,790 yards and 90 TDs.

After the Raiders set Derek Carr as inactive for the rest of the season, that left QB Jarrett Stidham as the only quarterback left on the active roster. As the Raiders sign QB Chase Garbers, he now fills in the slot previously occupied by Stidham.
