Las Vegas Raiders sign RB Ameer Abdullah who previously played for the Carolina Panthers
Adding depth to the running back position, the Las Vegas Raiders sign RB Ameer Abdullah who was an unrestricted free agent following his 2021 season with the Carolina Panthers. The announcement was made official on Friday, March 18.
The 5’9”, 203-pound running back also played for the Minnesota Vikings from 2018–2021 and the Detroit Lions (2015–2018). The backup RB vet has started in 23 career games out of his 91 games played and has recorded 1,574 yards off of 409 carries with six rushing touchdowns. His receiving game has also been solid with 865 yards off of 119 receptions with seven receiving touchdowns.
The Las Vegas Raiders sign RB Ameer Abdullah following a career season with the Panthers after playing all 17 games while reaching career highs with 38 receptions and 289 receiving yards. He spent his collegiate career as a Nebraska Cornhusker who achieved three consecutive seasons with 1,000+ rushing yards, the only player to do so for the University of Nebraska.
Bringing in a welcoming veteran experience, Abdullah, 28, joins Josh Jacobs, Kenyan Drake, and the newly signed Brandon Bolden in the Las Vegas Raiders backfield.
