Las Vegas Raiders sign TE OJ Howard
Announced on Monday, the Las Vegas Raiders sign TE OJ Howard after his one year stint with the Houston Texans. In the 2022 NFL season, Howard caught 10 receptions for 145 and two touchdowns.
During the 2017 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Howard in the first round at 19th overall. He played for the Buccs for five seasons from 2017 to 2021, and was part of the Super Bowl LV team with Tom Brady at the helm in the 2020-2021 season. There, he recorded 25 receptions for 432 yard as set a career high of six touchdowns.
Howard exercised his rookie contract’s fifth-year option, but was free to sign with another team in free agency last offseason. Howard caught 119 receptions for 1,737 yards and 15 touchdowns over 59 games in Tampa.
As the Las Vegas Raiders sign TE OJ Howard, they fill in a gap left by Darren Waller following his trade to the New York Giants.
