The divisional matchup between the Raiders vs Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High was a statement win for the Las Vegas Raiders. This was the first week without Jon Gruden and the first week with interim head coach Rich Bisaccia. Their first win together spoke volumes, and the rough week held a lot of mixed emotions. Nothing better to leave it on the field with W.
Exactly three minutes into the game, quarterback Derek Carr fired a rocket to receiver Henry Ruggs III for a 48-yard touchdown. It was such an electrifying opening drive that was shortly followed by a scoring drive for the Broncos themselves. Teddy Bridgewater connected with receiver Tim Patrick for a 23-yard touchdown to even the score.
Daniel Carlson went 2 for 3 for his second missed field goal of the season but was able to bring the lead to 10-7 in the 2nd quarter with a 50-yarder. He missed his 43-yard attempt later that quarter off the right post. Toward the end of the half, Carr threw to running back Kenyan Drake who caught the ball inside the 5 and ran into the end zone to bring the Raiders up 17-7.

The Denver Broncos stellar defense was a no show as the second half of the game began with another touchdown for the Silver & Black thanks to Drake’s 18-yard rush. Both him and Josh Jacobs have been solid this season, and Jacobs added his own TD at the end of the 3rd quarter with a 3-yard rush.
Showing some light, Bridgewater found receiver Courtland Sutton and tight end Noah Fant for a touchdown each and ended up with 334 passing yards, 9 rushing, 3 TDs, and 3 picks thanks for the Raiders secondary. The defense game between the Raiders vs Broncos was no competitions as cornerback Brandon Facyson and safeties Tre’von Moehrig and Brandon Facyson all grabbed an interception each. With that said, Carr threw 341 yards for 2 TDs and zero picks.
With this 34-24 victory against the Broncos, the Las Vegas Raiders are now 4-2 and hold second place in the AFC West under the 4-2 Los Angeles Chargers, whom they just lost to back in Week 4. Next Sunday, October 24, the Philadelphia will come to town at Allegiant Stadium to face the Silver & Black.
