They say to live and die in LA, yet Los Angeles was not the place to be for the Silver and Black on Sunday as the Raiders vs Rams game ended in a 20-15 loss at SoFi Stadium. The Rams forced four turnovers in what was a close game even with Raiders quarterback Aidan O’Connell injured early on in the game.
Replacing O’Connell due to a hand injury, Garder Minshew did not throw for any touchdowns. Were you expecting one rushing? That didn’t happen either. What did happen were three interceptions, two to Rams rookie defensive back Jayden McCollough and one to DB Cobie Durant. We’re not blaming Davante Adams for the lack of offensive power. His departure from the Raiders was dismal, but inevitable.
Minshew only completed 15 out of 34 attempts with 154 yards, while the injured O’Connell went 6 for 10 with 52 yards. It seems as if the only certainty on offense is rookie Brock Bowers, who caught 10 passes for 93 yards. There’s slight credit going into the running game with running back Alexander Mattison’s 92-yard night on 23 touches.
Raiders vs Rams Week 7 | 2024 Season Highlights

Let’s go back to Durant. Not only did he get a pick, he returned a fumble for a 33-yard touchdown at the end of the first half. Is there any way the front office can give Colin Kaepernick a call?
“We’ve got to be smart with the ball,” said Raiders coach Antonio Pierce. “At the end, you’re trying to take a shot. I get that one. The other ones, got to do a better job.”
Rams running back Kyren Williams scored two rushing touchdowns, marking his eighth of the season on the ground. Williams now has an NFL-best 24 touchdowns dating from the start of last season through only 18 of 23 games. Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson was all that the fans could hope for, going five for five field goals for the day.
At this point, are the Raiders secretly planning to draft Arch Manning in 2026? We really don’t want to dread another season. Next up are the Chiefs in Week 8.
