The Las Vegas Raiders are still looking for their first victory following the Raiders vs Titans Week 3 matchup. Starting out 0-3 for the season, each game has been decided by 6 or less points. It hurts even more to say that every one of those games were winnable, but maybe that’s the silver lining here.
Let’s start with the bad news first. Being first on the board, the Tennessee Titans were able to take a 7-0 lead when quarterback Ryan Tannehill and tight end Geoff Swaim connected on a short 2-yard pass into the end zone. The passing touchdown was Tannehill’s only one for the game, as he finished the day with 264 passing yards, one passing TD, and a rushing TD.
“We got the ball rolling in the right direction,” said Tannehill. “And that was our message all week is just come out, find a way to win this one game and we’ll get the ball rolling in the right direction and build on it.”

Titans running back Derrick Henry added to the flames with 85 yards rushing for the game and scored a touchdown during the beginning of the second quarter. Now here’s the good news. The Las Vegas Raiders found a way to get to the end zone on their next possession as quarterback Derek Carr utilized backup tight end Foster Moreau, running back Josh Jacobs, and wide receiver Davante Adams, who caught a 5-yard touchdown on the drive.
With a couple of scores on the board, the first half of the Raiders vs Titans Week 3 game was starting to cook, but the momentum shifted once again when Tannehill channeled his inner Derrick Henry and scored a rushing touchdown on a 1st & goal. Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson completed a few field goals to keep his team within range as the Raiders trailed 24-16 with six minutes to play.
There was less than 3 minutes on the clock, and the Raiders were looking to complete a 4th & 15. Carr threw a bomb to receiver Mack Hollins who caught an incredible 48-yard catch just before the 2-minute warning. The two connected once more on a 4th & goal as Hollins made a huge catch over Titans cornerback Terrance Mitchell for a 9-yard touchdown.
Sadly the Raiders couldn’t convert the two points to tie out the game as Carr’s throw was deflected. The Titans were able to achieve their first win of the season, something the Las Vegas Raiders are still in search of. Coach Josh McDaniels might be on the hot seat after this one and it seems that we’re in must win territory as the Raiders play against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, October 2.
