The Seahawks vs Raiders preseason Week 1 game is finally here. The matchup between Seahawks vs Raiders was the first Las Vegas Raiders game of the 2021 preseason in front of a home crowd at Allegiant Stadium since their departure from Oakland. Even without starting quarterback Derek Carr, the Las Vegas Raiders finished the first game of the preseason with a 20-7 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Nathan Peterman, the Raiders third-string QB, was available for the game as Carr was skipping the opener and Marcus Mariota was nursing a leg injury.
Nathan Peterman finished with 29 of 38 pass completions for 246 yards along with 6 carries for 32 yards. During the first play of the game, Peterman was sacked by Seahawks defensive tackle Bryan Mone for a short loss. A couple minutes later the Raiders QB threw a deep pass left into the hands of wide receiver Zay Jones for 28 yards. The two almost connected for a 30 yard touchdown but Jones ran out of bounds just before the endzone.
Within the same possession, the Las Vegas Raiders saw themselves at the goal line and took all four downs to punch in a rushing TD. The first attempt was taken by BJ Emmons for two yards, then came Trey Ragas who looked like he may have scored but had the ball knocked out right at the 1 yard line. Peterman took a goal line rush himself but was not able to pass through the Seattle defensive line. Ragas attempted one more time on 4th down and succeeded for the first touchdown of the Raiders preseason.

The rest of the first half did not look so great for the Seahawks as they failed to score. Second-string backup quarterback Geno Smith had some decent passes but ended up with a concussion. The Seahawks barely made it past the Raiders 45 for the rest of the half. Not all was well for Peterman either as he was picked off 3 minutes left of the 2nd quarter when he tried to pass short right to Dillon Stoner and was intercepted by Seahawks’ second-string safety Ryan Neal. Dominik Eberle converted two field goals for the Raiders in the half to increase the lead to 13-0
The Seahawks showed some life to start the 3rd quarter when Alex McGough threw to Deejay Dallas who broke a tackle and ran for 43 yards to the endzone. In another possession later in the 3rd, Seahawks kicker Jason Myers missed a 50 yarder wide left. For the rest of the game, defenses on both teams picked up. The next and final score came through middle of the 4th quarter when Emmons jumped over the Seattle lineman for a 2-yard touchdown.
Not too shabby to start of the 2021 preseason. The Las Vegas Raiders will play against the Los Angeles Rams in Inglewood, California at SoFi Stadium on Saturday, August 21 at 7:00PM PT.
