WFT vs Raiders Week 13 | 2021 Season

In a 17-15 dramatic victory for the Washington Football Team, the WFT vs Raiders game on Sunday was close and competitive till the last minute. The team with no name won the game thanks to their newly signed rookie kicker Brian Johnson who kicked the go-ahead 48-yard field goal while the Silver & Black looked slightly off the week after their Thanksgiving feast.

Raiders QB Derek Carr seemed a bit irritated by WFT’s defense in the first half. Finishing the day with 249 yards, Carr wasn’t able to connect with any of his receivers for a score. With the exception of one drive, Carr was much better in the second half, but the Raiders were held out of the end zone by the WFT defense.

Washington brought a mix of defensive tackles collapsing the pocket, safety Bobby McCain’s tough performance, and several crucial plays by linebackers Cole Holcomb and Jamal Davis. They are currently fighting for a playoff spot with a 6-6 recond right under the Dallas Cowboys for second place in the NFC East as the hottest team in that division winning their last four games in a row.

WFT vs Raiders Week 13 – 2021 Season Highlights

Las Vegas Raiders receiver Hunter Renfrow has been in rhythm and ended the day with 102 yards on 9 catches on 10 targets. It was his second game in a row with over 100 yards. Without tight end Darren Walker it was obvious the Raiders offense was a bit behind although running back Josh Jacobs got in a goal line rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke threw for 196 yard with two touchdowns and a pick. WFT tight end Logan Thomas caught three receptions with a score but may have torn either his ACL or MCL after a play with 10 minutes left in the game. An injury like that may hurt Washington’s streak as they lose their top tight end for the rest of the season. Thomas will undergo an MRI shortly.

In a division rivalry matchup next week at Gefa Field at Arrowhead Stadium, the Las Vegas Raiders face off against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, December 12. The tense playoff race in the AFC will continue and we hope Darren Waller can come back healthy by then. Chiefs are also on a 4-game winning streak and have the momentum upside but we will never count out our Las Vegas Raiders.
