The Las Vegas Raiders have fallen down to a 2–7 season record after a losing in the 25–20 Raiders vs Colts Week 10 home game on Sunday. In the events that included an impressive 147-yard performance by Indy running back Jonathan Taylor, the game could’ve gone either way as both teams fought neck and neck. The 2021 rushing yards leader hasn’t surpassed 100 since his 161-yard outing from Week 1, so tough luck for the Silver and Black.

With the new Colts interim head coach Jeff Saturday taking charge, 37-year old veteran quarterback Matt Ryan got the call up to start the game over backup QB Sam Ehlinger who had played the previous two weeks. Ryan finished the day with 222 passing yards, one passing touchdown, and one rushing touchdown during a drive where he ran for his longest career rush with 39 yards.

Raiders quarterback Derek Carr had two touchdowns with 248 yards passing yards and 24 completions. Running back Josh Jacobs carried 21 times for a total of 78 yards and also caught six passes for 28 yards. Davante Adams had another big game with 126 receiving yards, nine receptions, and one touchdown.

Indy went first on the board following their second offensive possession and Ryan’s rushing touchdown near the end of the first quarter. Adding a field goal to the lead, they allowed the Raiders to answer back with a scoring drive of their own at the end of the second quarter thanks to tight end Foster Moreau who caught a 4-yard receiving touchdown from Carr.

Another successful Indy field goal by kicker Chase McLaughlin gave the Colts a six-point lead going into halftime, but they began the second half of the Raiders vs Colts Week 10 matchup with a failed field goal attempt that resulted in a 7-minute, 62-yard scoring drive by the Silver and Black — their first lead of the game. It wasn’t long until the Colts took back control due to Taylor’s 66-yard rushing touchdown in a 50-second scoring drive at the end of the third quarter.

The Raiders punched back once more, scoring on a huge Carr to Adams connection that went 48 yards to the end zone. Yet that just wasn’t enough as Matt Ryan found receiver Parris Campbell on a 35-yarder with five minutes left in the fourth quarter, giving the Colts a 25–20 lead that carried through to the end of the game.

Losing three games in a row is no joke, and neither is having the second worst record in the league. In a divisional match against the Denver Broncos next week, the Las Vegas Raiders will see if they can recreate their Week 4 victory against Russell Wilson. Let’s ride.
