Las Vegas Raiders hire JoJo Wooden
Announced on Monday, the Las Vegas Raiders hire JoJo Wooden as the new Raiders Senior Director of Player Personnel.
For the final three games of the 2023 NFL season, Wooden filled the role of Interim General Manager for the Los Angeles Chargers. Before that, he was the team’s Director of Player Personnel from 2013 to 2023, managing the college and professional scouting divisions.
Wooden worked for the New York Jets for 16 seasons (1997–2012) before joining the Chargers. During the last six of those seasons, he served as the team’s Assistant Director of Player Personnel. He began his career with the Jets in 1997 as a Pro Personnel Assistant. In 2001, he was elevated to senior AFC Pro Scout. In 2003, he was named Assistant Director of Pro Scouting. He served as director of pro scouting from 2004 to 2006.
Wooden earned a sociology degree from Syracuse University. Between 1989 and 1992, he was an outside linebacker. In his junior and senior seasons, he helped lead his team to consecutive top-10 national rankings. Wooden has two daughters with his wife, Sarah. His brother Terry, is currently a National Scout for the New Orleans Saints.
