The Las Vegas Raiders sign G Cody Whitehair, adding depth to their offensive line. Whitehair has spent the previous eight seasons with the Chicago Bears, who selected the guard with the 56th overall pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Whitehair stands 6’ 3” and weighs 316 pounds. The veteran offensive lineman played across 124 career games while starting in 118. 61 of those starts were at the center position while 54 were at left guard and three at right guard. Prior to being named to the 2016 PFWA All-Rookie team and 2018 Pro Bowl, Whitehair started across 71 consecutive regular season games in Chicago.

Whitehair will also be reuniting with Luke Getsy, his previous offensive coordinator. Even Raiders center Andre James was excited with the new addition.

“We got Cody Whitehair in here today,” said James as Raiders sign G Cody Whitehair on Monday. “Awesome guy, I just met him today, and yeah, it’s nice having a vet like that come in with a lot of the experience that he’s had. It’s only just going to benefit the whole offensive line room.”

Bringing in experience into the new Raiders offense, Whitehair adds a great option to the Raiders’ frontline as they compete in a tough AFC West that includes the Super Bowl LVIII Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.

“It’s always helpful having a guy who’s familiar with the offense, familiar with the scheme and the system, especially in the offensive line room, just to kind of pick his brain and kind of get some of the keys and some of the information that he’s gotten for a long time there working with the Bears,” James added. “So, I’m super excited to have him.”

As the Las Vegas Raiders sign G Cody Whitehair, the Silver and Black have now added DT Christian Wilkins, QB Gardner Minshew II, TE Harrison Bryant, and RB Alexander Mattison in just a month’s span.
