Las Vegas Raiders And Smiths Drug Stores Host Holiday Huddle

A community shopping spree provided by Raiders and Smiths

This week, the Las Vegas Raiders and Smiths Food & Drug Stores hosted a Holiday Huddle shopping spree. The warm effort was made for select local families to get a chance at an opportunity to complete their holiday wish lists.

Raiders center Andre James, guard Alex Leatherwood, tackle Brandon Parker, and long snapper Trent Sieg were on hand along with Raiderettes Kristina, Maddie, Madyson, and Whitney. Staff from both the Las Vegas Raiders and Smith’s Food & Drug Stores also attended the Holiday Huddle.

The families selected were chosen by Project 150, a Las Vegas non-profit organization created to help the Vegas community with support and services to homeless and disadvantaged high school students. These families have had a hard time with financial means during the pandemic.

Together, the Las Vegas Raiders and Smiths Food & Drug Stores sent out $1000 Smith’s gift cards to each family to help with groceries, clothes, and toys. Joined with Raiders players and Raiderettes, the families spent the day shopping at Smith’s Marketplace at Sky Canyon.

This charitable Holiday Huddle event follows the Raiders and Smith’s collaboration to serve Thanksgiving meals to families in Southern Nevada. The Raiders, the Raiders Foundation, and Smiths all contributed money to purchase Thanksgiving meal boxes, which were assembled and given at Allegiant Stadium during a drive-through event.
