New Raiders General Manager Tom Telesco

The new Raiders General Manager Tom Telesco will be the Silver and Black’s fifth GM in history

Announced today, new Raiders General Manager Tom Telesco has been named as the franchise’s fifth GM while entering his 29th year in the NFL Telesco has spent the previous 11 seasons as the General Manager for the Los Angeles Chargers.

During his time in both San Diego and Los Angeles, current Raiders General Manager Tom Telesco helped the Chargers go to three playoff appearances and two postseason victories. He also helped draft six players in the first round of the NFL Draft that eventually got elected to the Pro Bowl, including Jason Verrett, Melvin Gordon III, Joey Bosa, Derwin James Jr., Justin Herbert and Rashawn Slater.

Prior to his stint with the Bolts, Telesco spent 15 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. He held positions as Vice President of Football Operations in 2012, Director of Player Personnel from 2006 to 2011), Director of Pro Scouting 2004 to 2005, a pro scout from 2001 to 2003, and an area scout from 1998 to 2000.

Four-time Pro Bowl running back Edgerrin James, five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Reggie Wayne, seven-time Pro Bowler Dwight Freeney, and four-time Pro Bowl quarterback Andrew Luck were all taken by the Colts during Telesco’s drafts. The Colts played in two Super Bowls, won eight division titles, and made twelve postseason appearances while he was in Indy.

In 1995, Telesco joined the Carolina Panthers as a scouting assistant. He worked there for two seasons before moving on to become an area scout in 1997. From 1991 to 1994, he also served as a summer intern for the Buffalo Bills.
