Las Vegas Raiders sign DT Nesta Jade Silvera
Announced on Thursday, the Las Vegas Raiders sign DT Nesta Jade Silvera. Silvera was the 231st overall pick by the Raiders in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
The 6-foot-2, 315 pound defensive tackle began his collegiate career at the University of Miami from 2018 to 2021. Silvera then transferred to Arizona State University for his last year. He played in 59 games and recorded 161 tackles, 62 solo tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, four passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
In 2022, Silvera recorded a career-high 56 tackles, 20 solo tackles, 1.5 sacks, three passes defended, and one forced fumble. He also earned an honorable mention All-Pac-12 Conference and led all interior defensive lineman in total tackles with 35 and tackles for loss with eight as a junior at Miami. Silvera received All-ACC Honorable Mention in 2019.
