Las Vegas Raiders sign RB Darwin Thompson
Announced on Tuesday, the Las Vegas Raiders sign RB Darwin Thompson after playing last season with the Seattle Seahawks. The former sixth-round pick of the 2019 NFL Draft spent the 2021 season on Tampa Bay’s practice squad following a two season stint with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Standing at 5-foot-8 and weighing 200 pounds, Thompson played in 26 career games and accumulated 225 rushing yards, 66 carries, 108 receiving yards, 16 receptions, and three total touchdowns.
The Tusla, Oklahoma native running back spent his collegiate career at both Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and Utah State. The 26-year-old won a Super Bowl with the Chiefs in the 2020 NFL season (LIV).
As the Las Vegas Raiders sign RB Darwin Thompson, they fill in a gap in the team’s backfield that’s currently under the injury bug, along with the questionable availability of star Josh Jacobs.
