Raiders Sign TE Darren Waller To Three-Year, $51 Million Extension

Las Vegas Raiders sign TE Darren Waller to a contract extension through 2026

Announced today, the Las Vegas Raiders sign TE Darren Waller to a three-year contract extension with $51 million. We should all be excited that Waller, who turns 30 next week, will be part of the Silver and Black for the next five years.

With 3,081 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns, the 6-foot-6, 240-pound tight end is third among tight ends in franchise history. In 11 games in an injury plagued last season, Waller collected 665 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

“Darren Waller is an exemplary teammate in every way, and we’re excited to see him continue to grow as a leader on this team,” said Raiders Head Coach Josh McDaniels as Raiders sign TE Darren Waller. “Darren brings a tremendous commitment and work ethic to the building every day and we couldn’t be more thrilled that he will be a part of the Raiders Family for years to come.”

In 2019, Waller started for the Raiders and had an instant breakout season with 90 catches for 1,145 yards. Waller had an even more impressive season the following season. After being first among tight ends in the 2020 NFL season with 107 receptions, second with 1,196 yards, and third with nine touchdowns, Waller was selected for his first Pro Bowl that year. His 107 receptions break Hall of Famer wide receiver Tim Brown‘s previous record of 104 receptions set during the 1997 season, setting a new franchise record.

As the Las Vegas Raiders sign TE Darren Waller, the Silver and Black keeps their relationship[ with one of the top tight ends in the game. After exceeding his contract, Waller is now rewarded before entering his eighth NFL season.
