Bengals vs Raiders Week 11 | 2021 Season

The Cincinnati Bengals rushing attack dominated most of the afternoon in the Bengals vs Raiders Week 11 matchup on Sunday. On 30 carries, Bengals running back Joe Mixon tallied 123 yard with two touchdowns, his second as a coup de grace toward the end of the game.

In lieu of their first-ever trip to Las Vegas, Mixon asked his teammates at Thursday’s practice on how to celebrate a touchdown in the end zone. His first touchdown came with 4 minutes left in the second quarter on a 11 yard rush breaking the right tackle. He gathered his teammates and pretended to shake and rolled some dice on the end zone grass.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow struggled a bit against the Las Vegas Raiders defense but was able to throw to rookie receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who is in contention for Rookie of the Year, for a 6 yard touchdown. Raiders quarterback Derek Carr threw 215 yards for 1 touchdown and 1 interception. The pick came on an intended pass to tight end Darran Waller toward one of their last drives in the fourth quarter.

The good news for the day Waller is that Waller looked fully healthy as he caught 7 of his 8 target for 116 yards. Backup tight end Foster Moreau, prepared as always, was able to score on his lone catch on a 19-yard pass from Carr. Penalties exacerbated the Raiders ineffectiveness on third downs and in the red zone. The Raiders were penalised seven times for 77 yards, while Cincinnati only had one 5-yard penalty.

Raiders interim coach Rich Bisaccia said, “We had penalties in critical situations and extended drives for them against our defense. We gave some big push in there. We expected to get some runs out of them from a team that runs the ball really well. We have to look at how the penalties actually hurt us and why our offense is out of sync right now.”

On Thanksgiving, the Raiders will travel to AT&T Stadium to face off against the Dallas Cowboys, who are currently sitting pretty at first on the NFC East with a 7-3 record. After their third loss in a row, the Las Vegas Raiders are now 5-5 right above the Denver Broncos for third in the AFC West.
