Chiefs vs Raiders Week 10 | 2021 Season

The Patrick Mahomes we have been accustomed to came back to life in the Chiefs vs Raiders Week 10 game on Sunday night. In the battle of who would claim first in the AFC West, The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Las Vegas Raiders in a 41-14 loss for the Silver & Black.

Raiders’ Derek Carr ended the night with 261 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception that occurred toward the end of the third quarter on an intended pass to Zay Jones. Chiefs’ defensive back Daniel Sorensen made the play. Mahomes time-portaled back to his MVP year in 2018 and finished the game with 406 yards and 5 touchdowns, but no rushing attempts.

The two teams traded a touchdown each early in the game with Mahomes connecting with receiver Tyreek Hill who now leads the league in targets. Carr found Hunter Renfrow for a short pass touchdown to tie up the score 7-7. After a successful field goal, the Chiefs put themselves in red zone territory once more with another touchdown by Mahomes and Hill.

A big play by Carr came at the Raiders’ first possession after halftime where he found receiver Bryan Edwards on a straight arrow through three Chiefs’ secondaries including safety Tyrann Mathieu. Unfortunately this was the last scoring play for the Raiders as the Chiefs scored on every possession afterwards for the rest of the game.

Noah Gray, the Chiefs rookie tight end, found his first touchdown of the season on a 1-yard pass by Mahomes during the middle of the third quarter. Running back Darrel Williams and receiver Byron Pringle both caught a touchdown each later on in the fourth quarter. The Chiefs vs Raiders Week 10 match was also DeSean Jckson’s first game with the Las Vegas Raiders since coming from the Los Angeles Rams after the release of Henry Ruggs. Jackson caught his lone target of the game on a 40-yard pass from Carr, but the ball was knocked out for a fumble by Mathieu.

The 5-3 Las Vegas Raiders are now sitting in 3rd place in the AFC West after the loss under both the Kansas City Chiefs (6-4) and the Los Angeles Chargers (5-4). We hope they bounce back next week against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, November 21 at Allegiant Stadium.
